I don't travel as much as I want but here is what I do when I go abroad:
- Print every confirmation, ticket, approval, etc. that is part of your trip and have it in a folder. It makes border control much easier. Especially the USA.
- Make copies of your credit cards and keep them with you in case you lose on, you have the details with you.
- See a style constultant, they will show you how you can travel for a week and pack only enough clothes to fit into a carry on. And you will look stylish every day.
- Download the apps you will use over there already and load your credit card information. Kuala Lumpur does not have Uber, they have Grab.
- Make sure your roaming works.
- Make sure you can buy stuff with your credit card even if your roaming does NOT work. Have major issues here but one of my 3 cards could work without roaming.
- Have a printed map of your first day's arrival, from airport, to hotel, to meetings. Go on Google maps and do street view to see how the hotel and offices look like.
- Find out what pay as you go mobile cards there are. Like when I go to the UK, 3 Network has a 30 day sim for 20 Pounds, 300 minutes and unlimited 4G data. Love it.
