This Youth Month, SimplyBiz is shining the spotlight on young South Africans who are out there making moves, chasing the bag, building businesses and turning their ideas into income.
If you’re under 35 and running a business, side hustle or small venture in South Africa, this is your chance to show Mzansi what you’re building.
You could be one of 10 young entrepreneurs selected as finalists in the Show Us Your Hustle competition.
Three finalists will each stand a chance to win a R10,000 Avo Superstore voucher to help take their hustle to the next level. The remaining seven finalists will each receive a R500 Avo Superstore voucher.
What’s this competition about?
We’re looking for young entrepreneurs who are not just talking about starting a business, but are already doing the work.
Whether you’re selling products, offering a service, taking bookings, running a food business, doing beauty treatments, creating content, making clothes, providing digital services, fixing things, delivering goods or running your own kasi hustle, we want to see it.
This is about giving young businesses more shine, more support and a boost to help them grow.
Phase 1: What do you need to submit?
To enter, you must submit:
- A short video showing your business or hustle in action.
- Proof that your business is active and already selling, serving customers, taking orders, bookings or operating.
- A short explanation of how you would use the R10,000 Avo Superstore voucher to grow or support your hustle.
Your proof can include customer orders, receipts, invoices, product photos, delivery proof, WhatsApp orders, customer feedback, bookings, social media activity, price lists or anything else that shows your hustle is real and active.
Basically: don’t just tell us. Show us.
Who can enter?
You can enter if you:
- Are under 35 years old at the time of entry.
- Have a business or hustle that operates in South Africa.
- Have a valid South African identity document, card or passport.
- Are a registered member of SimplyBiz.
- Complete the online entry form and accept the competition terms and conditions.
Phase 2: How will finalists be selected?
Entries will be reviewed between 22 June 2026 and 24 June 2026.
A judging panel will select 10 finalists using a scorecard based on:
- Whether the business is real, active and operating.
- Clear customer need or market opportunity.
- Evidence of effort, sales, customers, orders, bookings or traction.
- Creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
- A clear and practical plan for using the R10,000 Avo Superstore voucher.
- Quality, clarity and completeness of the entry.
Phase 3: What is Support Week?
From 24 June 2026 to 30 June 2026, the 10 finalists may be featured across SimplyBiz digital, social media, marketing and communication channels.
During Support Week, Mzansi will be encouraged to show love by buying from them, visiting them, sharing their businesses, following their pages, leaving reviews, referring customers or engaging with their businesses.
The goal is simple: more eyes, more support and more potential customers for young entrepreneurs.
Phase 4: How will the winners be chosen?
On 1 July 2026, three winners will be randomly selected from the 10 finalists.
Each of the three winners will receive a R10,000 Avo Superstore voucher.
The seven remaining finalists will each receive a R500 Avo Superstore voucher.
