‘Nomayini’ (noma yini) is an isiZulu term that means ‘anything’ – and more specifically, in this instance, that one is prepared to do whatever it takes to accomplish a goal. The #Nomayini campaign has been created by the South African Future Trust (SA Future Trust) to celebrate the tenacity of small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) by shining a spotlight on the resilience of small-business owners who continue to do #Nomayini to stay up and running.

Who is the South African Future Trust (SA Future Trust)?

The SA Future Trust was established in 2020 to provide financial assistance to small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) hit by the Covid-19 lockdown in the form of interest-free loans to facilitate direct payments to their employees. 

The SA Future Trust, a champion of small business, is optimistic about the future and has partnered with SimplyBiz, powered by Nedbank, to leave a long-lasting impact on the small-business sector. The #Nomayini campaign is an embodiment of this vision.

Do I need to have a Nedbank account to enter the competition?

No, you do not need to have a Nedbank account to enter the competition. However, if you win, you will have to open a Nedbank Small Business Account and a Nedbank PlatinumInvest Account.

How do I enter?

1. Log in to SimplyBiz or register for SimplyBiz if you’re not a member yet.

2. Follow the SA Future Trust on social media:

4. Complete the entry form on SimplyBiz.

What can I win?

You can win:

  • a R15 000 cash deposit from the SA Future Trust, paid in a Nedbank Platinum Invest Account;
  • a three-month personalised coaching programme with Be Your Legacy worth R10 000; and
  • an advertising kit including social-media marketing worth R5 000.

What do I need to get a Nedbank PlatinumInvest Account?

You need to be FICA-verified. If you are a winner, your Nedbank relationship banker will check that your FICA documents are up to date. If they are not, your banker will contact you to update these.

How will the coaching work?

Coaching will happen online, via email or Skype or telephonically with a coach from Be Your Legacy, and we will monitor it through SimplyBiz. That is why it's important to give us your correct contact details on the entry form. Coaching will start on 24 January 2022. 

How will I unlock my prizes?
Month 1 – Unlock your coaching prize – January 2022

  • Your Be Your Legacy coach will contact you to get you started.
  • Complete the Canvas tool, SWOT analysis and one-page business plan.
  • Identify your goal and agree on an action plan with your coach.
  • Choose your advertising prize.

Month 2 – Unlock your advertising prize – February 2022

  • Javelin will contact you about your advertising prize.
  • Work towards your goal.

Month 3 – Unlock your cash prize – March 2022

  • Share with your coach how you intend to spend the cash to reach your goal. Your commitment on how you will spend the cash, can be through an invoice or a quote or a conversation held with your coach, which will be recorded as your intent.
  • A Nedbank relationship banker will contact to set up your account for the cash prize.
  • Work towards your goal.
  • Complete the coaching feedback form.

Month 4 – Unlock your toolkit prize – April 2022

  • Achieve your goal.
  • Complete the coaching feedback form.

What advertising prizes can I choose?

You can choose one option only, and once you have made a choice, it is final and you cannot change it. (Your coach will guide you and you will choose by 24 February 2022.)

  • Physical signage for a retail store (one sign).

  • Digital signage – a package of social-media banners and ads for:
      • Facebook
      • Google 
      • Instagram
  • Decals for shop windows (pack of five) and motor vehicles (pack of two).

  • Leaflets (2 500) and business cards (500).

  • Pull-up banner (one banner).

  • Digital letterhead, flyer and email signature.

  • Website, domain and hosting.

  • Set-up of social-media pages (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn).

  • Help with search engine optimization.

What is the social-media marketing campaign?

The social-media marketing campaign consists of a paid Google advertising campaign valued at R1 000 and exposure through the SimplyBiz Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.

Can I forfeit the prizes?

The intention of this competition is to help grow your business through coaching, advertising and a cash injection. If you are unavailable and do not complete the programme successfully, you will forfeit all the prizes.  

Will my business get any publicity if I win?

Yes. You and your business may be featured on the SimplyBiz website, magazine and SimplyBiz social-media platforms. We will also share your business goal and the steps you are taking to get to that goal. We will encourage the public to support your business and ask you to publicise your winnings to create awareness and excitement for your business. You may also receive broader publicity through the SA Future Trust and our media partners.
